Before we do anything we will obviously find out the correct answer for our area, but I was just curious what other people have been told about this. We are looking to buy a house, and need a 4 bedroom. Everything for sale where we are looking is only 3 bedroom, but some of them have an office or some space that we could easily turn into a four bedroom. The fourth bedroom will be for my step son, who is only allowed to spend 2 nights a month overnight with us (though we see him more - and would gladly keep him all the time). We don't want to have to upgrade the septic and spend all that time and money, and to see ahead of time if the land even perks for a 4 bedroom. So what defines a bedroom? Some people tell me that it is simply having a closet. So it we didn't put a closet in his room and just did a wardrobe, would we be safe? Or would we have to pull out the bed and wardrobe before an appraiser came to look at the house? I am just curious what other people have been told or know. We will get the correct information when we find a specific house we want to buy.

Im building a potato launcher and it aint working? help!?

i have made a crude potato launcher using pvc pipe, screws, 2-core speaker cable and a car battery. i have screwed two machine screws into the pipe so that the ends are very close (but not touching) and have the cable wrapped around the screws and hooked up to the battery at the other end. The idea being that i fill the pvc pipe with aerosol, turn on the battery, electrical charge travels up the cable, to the screws and jumps from one to the other, igniting the gas and launching my potato. my problem is im not getting a spark, what am i doing wrong? (the cable is touching both the pvc and the screws, would this create a problem)

Reoccurring yeast infections?

Hi I am a 21 yr old mother who has had 3 ual partners in the last year I had my first yeast infection March of 2010 I don't have insurance so i used an self screening kit to determine that it was a yeast infection and symptoms cleared up with over the counter treatment... (went for a well check up june of 2010 and tested clean for STDs) since then I have been having recurring yeast infections almost every cpl months most of the time they are incredibly mild and the only indication I have is mild discomfort (feeling dry and itchy) and ever so slightly thickened discharge. I take a AZO yeast supplement when this happens but i don't take one everyday. I am a webcam model ( private shows done over the net) and I use a toy to masturbate anywhere from 30-50 times a day. do to the fact that i'm not always this causes tremendous frictions that I know is often the cause for my irritation could it be the cause of my yeast infections as well? also I AM VERY sure its a yeast infection but I have not technically been diagnosed by a doctor for those who are skeptical I've been having burning, itching, Sometimes(not always) white bread-ish looking discharge (sorry eww) and it NEVER SMELLS BAD Also I have noticed that most months I have an infection they occur either before menstruation or around ovulation. the first yeast infection was by far the worst... just FYI

Spouses both with Cancer???

I have a sister who is fighting a deadly cancer (Mantle Cell Lymphoma) and about the time of her fifth chemotherapy treatment they found that her husband has colon cancer. He had surgery and then emergency surgery and lost about 24 inches of colon. We don't know yet what other treatment he might need. And my sister has a long ways to go in her treatments yet. But my concern is whether or not something in the house they had built in a new development is causing the cancers and if so, how long until their two teen sons have cancer of some sort. I found out recently that after the huge kitchen had the tiles put in for the large counter tops, my sister decided not to take the time to "seal" the grout in them. How can I find out if this is a possibility and if not where do we begin to have that house tested for a possible cause? My sister is 45 and her husband is 50 and it is taking it's tole on the whole family to see them suffer like this.

I'm not an expert but try doing less cardio and yes you can definitely eat pasta and bread. Also eat more healthy things with high calories. Local anaesthetic still not wearing off...?

I had two wisdom teeth pulled under general anaesthetic last Thursday - a week ago. They must have injected a fair bit of local anaesthetic into my jaw too because it was numb for ages after the op. And now, seven days later, I still have very little feeling in my lower lip and chin. I am worried that I have permanent nerve damage from the tooth extraction. Is running better or the gazelle?

i use the gazelle about 3-4 times a week as exercise. the gazelle is an exercise machine that is like running in place but your legs are kept at a straight angle instead of bending like when you are actually running. when i exercise, my legs and calves get bigger instead of smaller which makes me think that regular running is better than running with straight angle legs. any advice?

Why won't my iPod Touch let me jailbreak it?

Every time I try to jailbreak my iPod, whether its using QuickPWN, redsn0w, or QuickFreedom, there are problems. In QuickPWN, it gets sorta there, but i have trouble putting in the firmware. In redsn0w, my screen doesn't change, AT ALL. In QuickFreedom, as i get to the create custom firmware step, and I put my iPod into DFU mode, it doesn't detect it! HELP!!!

I rent out a four person house with 3 of my friends, and this summer we are subletting it. We each pay about $450 per month, and a young couple want to sublet it. Our landlord referred them to us because they are friends. She suggested we rent it out to them for around $700 a month, which wouldn't even cover two people's rent. In elem. school [between 1992 and1993] I read this fiction/scifish book about a girl (teen)who wakes up to find she's trapped in a room/building with 3? other kids (2 boys and another girl. No one else is around but they figure out they are being watched. Any time the kids are directed by some silent hand to do something...they are rewarded in some fashion for example food. Not doing what their directed denies them any chance of sustenance. It was a weird book but I remember being engrossed in it and rooting for the protagonist who seems, if i recall well, to befriend one of the boys. The other two kids seem to be more selfish aka bad seeds, doing whatever they need to get a reward including eventually turning on the girl and her friend ( bullying them ?? ) I believe the end of the book turns out to be this female protagonist and her male friend being allowed out of their prison/experimental room after the "observers" are particularly satisfied at a show of positive human nature on the girl and boy's part. The kids seem weak and undernourished but manage to get out while it is umed the other kids didn't fare as well and remained in captivity. I was left with the sense, as a kid that these four kids were part of some sort of behavioral experiment. I would love to find this book. It nags me now even at 28 that I can't remember anything about the title. Plus i'd LOVE to read it again.

Ok, well clearly this may just be more than a 'habit'. I suggest you get therapy. ok ok, i know your probably not going to do that. But be like "mom, can i go to therapy?" or do something. They can help you break this thought process. You dont HAVE to tell your mom why, and the therapy will not inform your parents the problems you have. If thats a no-no, think about what would happen if you got caught. In school you could be suspended, or expelled possibly. It can go on your record and follow you and make it hard to get into college if it gets out of control. If not in school you could go to jail. You think yo yourself "come on, what if i dont get caught? I'll just not do it next time" or "this cant happen to me, i wont get caught, i just have to be careful." Sadly, if these thoughts persist you WILL get caught eventually. You dont even use the stuff you steal i bet. Dont let that day come. You like the thrill? Replace that thrill with something else. But you have to be very dedicated to stop. Find something else that replaces it, even though it may take time. hope i helped!

Use a q-tip to clean it. I have to do this to my sons. I think the security monitor they put on them in the hospital made their belly ons form funny. (that thing was heavy!) Also, you may have gotten something "in" your navel. I am a hairstylist and sometimes get hair splinters in mine...it's actually quite painful. But anything in your skin, if left untreated, will eventually cause an odor. Sometimes just not DRYING your belly on well will cause the problem you are having.

I think it's the other way around. Why is altruism good?

I define altruism as a creed which holds that helping others who are suffering, regardless of the conditions of their situations, as a moral imperative. I've yet to see a rational argument supporting this. Wouldn't an altruistic society survive by taking the strongest, intelligent, most productive members of that society and sacrificing them for the benefit of the weak, stupid, and unproductive? Wouldn't it basically punish virtue by expecting anyone who excels to sacrifice themselves and reward vice by giving the unearned to those who are the least productive? It seems as if, ultimately, altruism encourages self-sacrifice and self-negation. It turns the virtuous men into the slaves of the weak. How on earth is THAT virtuous?

Moving overseas, should I keep or sell car?

Moving overseas for the next 4 years... got a 2006 Grand Vitara with every option, including RetailRed paint. Trade in value is just under 11 (KBB) and I owe 17, if I maintain regular payments of 395/mo. We love the car, so here are my options as I see them: keep it and come back to a nice, fairly new paid off car; sell it and take it in the shorts; keep it until i leave, then have someone sell it for me... what do you guys think?

Unexplained pain near the diaphragm?

This morning at around 4am i woke up to an unusual sharp pain, i sat up for a second and that helped a little, but then i ignored it and went back to sleep, then again i woke up at 8am but now i was more aware of how much it hurt, the pain was a couple of cm above my belly on but a couple of cm below my , near my diaphragm, it was a very sharp pain, i told my mum and she said i probably just pulled a muscle but i knew it was more then that and it felt like someone shot me or stabed me with a knife, i took a panadol and started watching tv, after about 30min my pain wasent any better so mum called the doctors, i went back to watching tv, every now and again i would get a little shot in my heart or lungs but it hurt the whole time, suddenly i felt a very sharp pain that hurt very much and it felt like someone was ripping apart my chest and then stabbing below my lungs right in the middle, i quickly sat up and held my chin to my knees, and then all the pain suddenly stopped like it had never happeded and i felt better then ever, we cancled the doctors apointment and things went well for the rest of the day with no pain, my question is: what do you think caused this and has it ever happeded to you? i wouldent of minded if the pain gradually went away but the fact that it suddenly went away has got me curiouse, please help and please dont give a dumb answer, thxx :D xx

I wear soft lenses and have done for years . It is a myth that they can get in behind your eye. Like all things they take some time to get used to .But I would not trade mine in for gles .Go and see your optician you can get them on a trial basis and you will get experience of what we are telling you Good luck..

Email fighting, is there any law against a person sending you threatening emails?

What can one do if they have problems on an email in which a person makes threatening or mean statements which are upsetting? I responded to a few of them until I just realized I could block the emails but it got me to thinking if there is any legal precedent to sue someone for sending slanderous emails to your inbox and abusive statements? It is not work related but personal. Let me know of any cases or times that this type of email is resolved with more than just blocking it. It was not life threatening but they intimated that they would try to cause problems to a family member at work.

I have intense pain in my right foot from my big toe to the bump on the top of the foot please help!?

I have been have intense pain in my right foot since the first or second week of June 2009. The pain is a constant all the time pain and is located from where the bump part of your foot is (near your laces when you have a shoe on) towards the joint where my big toe and bone meet. I'm not sure how I hurt it but I'm a soccer goalkeeper and had a month off and started back playing again the last week of May 2009. I spent the rest of my summer playing soccer 2 nights a week and I wear sandals a lot. The pain has been getting worse and worse so I had an athletic trainer look at it and she noticed swelling and pain and thought it might be a stress fracture (she didn't notice anything with my gait being different or anything like that) so I wore tennis shoes instead of sandals at that point (this was at the beginning of August). I also went to a general practicing at the beginning of September and he didn't run any tests but thought it was my arches falling so I went and bought Orthodox for my shoes and have using those for the past month and no change. On my own with a friend (who's an RN) I did the get my foot wet and leave a print but there's no sign of failing arches as well as I have no pain in my ankles (I read that pain in the ankles is a sign of failing arches). If anyone has any idea as to what it is please help (I don't have very good health insurance so I'm trying to avoid a doctor, also I stay off my feet as much as I can with the exception of what I do for my job).

Ankle pain while running?

Last year, I sprained my ankle very badly, and I could not walk on it for about 2 months. When I fully recovered from this injury, I began to run again. At first I took it easy (1/2 mile a day), and gradually built up to 4 miles a day. Now and then I also experince some pain in my ankle, and when I do, I plan a lighter workout. I suggest that you rest it a bit more and gradully work up to your desired workout. If the pain continues, I recommend that your see your doctor and ask him/her about physical therapy, because it can really strenghten your ankle. Good Luck and I hope your ankle feels better :)

What do we do with a car that was supposed to be repo'ed?

We filed bankruptcy ch. 7 in July/court in August and then changed our mind about the car and rescinded in Sept. When nobody came to get the car in a month we called the bank and they just said it was up to the repo company as to when they come get it. Then someone on here said they cannot take anything from your private land. My aunt said (back when we first gave it up) they could take it while I was in a store shopping or something like that. Well the car no longer has a plate or insurance. Can they come with a flatbed or a hauler and come get it or can't they? We have never experienced a repo before so we don't know how it works and are those repo stories just horror stories or what? I mean the car is nice and has brand new tires and if we could somehow just keep the car that would be great. How would we ever get the title changed? We also have another large item that was included in the bankruptcy. We called the finance co. 4 or 5 months ago and told them to come and get it but they have not. We got our discharge papers about a week ago. Did not get any letters from any creditor stating what was going to happen, only from the bank the car was through saying that we no longer had to make payments.

no the only thing that you could do (and this is a shot in the dark) would be to go through everything and when you get to the counselor and he tells you there are no openings( which will most likely happen. corpsman is what a lot of people wish to do) you still pick another rating you go back to your recruiter and ask him to fill out a dar request which basically says that if a spot opens then you MIGHT be able to get that rate. but if there are no openings then you pretty much are stuck with that other rate you chose

You are describing clic symptoms of Orthostatic Hypotension. You body relaxes more when you are sitting and can maintain an adequate sitting blood pressure with less work as it doesn't have to pump so much blood straight up. When you stand the body switches gears and has to raise your blood pressure to keep blood flowing while standing. With the lower sitting effort to circulate the blood sometimes your brain suffers a brief lack of oxygen because the blood isn't pumping immediately with enough force to circulate enough oxygen for your body and brain. Usually after a minute or so the blood pressure makes it up and the symptoms go away. This can be very normal, especially if you just jump up and start running around which stresses your body even more trying to get the oxygen/blood to circulate. If you experience these symptoms you should sit back down for about a minute and try standing again. Be sure when you sit down that you leave your legs down (not up on a foot stool or on the couch). Other things that can contribute to this problem are dehydration or anemia. It sounds to me like yours is probably not due to anything abnormal as it is mild.

Help to all cat lovers! What can I do?

I have a stray cat that has come to our house and we now have had her for almost a year because she has gotten pregnant twice and we can't afford to spay her! We have 4 cats of our own and she has been sneaking into our house someway, we're not sure how, and fighting with them. My husband dumped her a week ago and said he took her out so far she would never come back. I was furious with him! My best friend tells her boyfriend EVERYTHING?

Ok, my best friend has been in a relationship with her first boyfriend for 1 1/2 months. Everything is fine, except everything I say to her, she goes and tells her boyfriend. It hasn't really been that big of a problem unless its a serious conversation. Like for example, i was talking to her boyfriend on the Facebook IM (he is also my other best friend), and he started implying that he wants to have with her before their married (we are all christians and have christian beliefs so don't go saying it is okay to have y before marriage, thats not the point of this question). It started bothering me so I finally told my best friend. I even remember making her swear not to tell her boyfriend or anyone else that i talked to her about that. Yet, ten minutes later, her boyfriend calls me, freaking out on me, for "implying that he is using her" and "him trying to convince her for fifteen minutes that is not why he goes out with her". Now, he is mad, I'm mad, and my best friend is a blabber mouth. What do I do? We used to be inseperable now I can't tell her anything?
