How much money should I bring?

Me and my mom are going to visit Tokyo. I always promised my mom I would take her there. My mom and myself want to know how much money we should bring. My mom said that she is bringing $4,000-$5,000 and i am bringing $7,000. So that would be aroung $11,000-$12,000 dollars in total. Will this be enough for us to last for 2 weeks. We also plan on visiting Osaka and Kyoto. Merci, beacoup.
