Could any human being (Terrorist/Freedom fighter) in pursuit of his aims really detonate a nuclear explosion?

we need to stop interfering in other countries affairs. one day will be too late-( what happened in Iraq is just as bad as nuke explosion. one thing for sure,the clock started!
