Is it ok for a store to write down your full credit card number to keep on their files?

A store here in the Philippines wrote down my full credit card number on the docket which they have a copy of, i complained about it but they said its standard procedure. They didn't write down the exp date or 3 digit number on the back. but i thought they would be easy to remember; and the info very easily ped on. I wasn't happy with it but is there anything i an do about it now? OR anything i could have done in the situation? The item was already paid for. Is the law different in the Philippines? I've never experienced this in Europe, so thought it quite odd. Would appreciate any info you can generously give. Thank you.
